I’ll let you in on a little secret

Posted In: Deals, blurbs by User Imagebarb (Who am I?)

…I have always thought that body jewelry was awesome. From toe rings to necklaces and earrings to bracelets; it’s something I definitely wish I had more of. I just think that they have a special look about the pieces.

Toe rings have always been my favorite piece of jewelry not just because it’s different to dress your toes but because they just make a woman’s foot look so sexy. I think this is the best place I’ve seen if you want some sexy rhinestone jewelry.

I stumbled onto flirty lingerie (yes, I do enjoy some really sexy clothing too; it makes me feel more womanly rather than always being in “mommy” mode); anyways, I saw some of the cutest earrings, rhinestone belly chains and rhinestone chokers…. surprisingly enough; they are all in my budget (so long as I don’t go overboard with the spending urge); oh yeah…and if your really wanting to show your frisky side there are some really cute rhinestone bras and thongs!!! I believe I now know where to shop when I want some really nice and sexy clothing for the bedroom and those really cute jewelry pieces for spoiling myself with when my husband decides to take me out on the town.

Angry is not the word I’m looking for

Posted In: blurbs by User Imagebarb (Who am I?)

WHAT ELSE CAN POSSIBLY GO WRONG!!! I just can’t handle our luck sometimes. Yesterday afternoon was the last time our dryer dried our clothes for us. Today I woke up and our cable was out because my husband was unable to pay the bill (Why did it have to shut off on a SUNDAY, WHY; when all offices are closed and our account is already negative 200.00). About seven months ago we lost our car (the only one we had)! In the past 6 months my daughter has had a total of 6 serious UTIs; my kids have had the same clothes since last school season…shall I go on?

I’m just so frustrated…oh and yeah, you might be wondering how I’m on the internet since it was shut off? Funny you should ask. The cable was off; our internet is still running (?) BUT, the most important techie thing of all is gone…MY EMAIL! Yes, they disabled my email, my life line to what I do.

With my luck, I probably got “lucky” enough to finally win something and because my email is disabled, it all gets kicked back to the sender saying that there is no such email address!!!!!!!!! What will happen then is a new winner will be notified and I end up losing out on that as well!!! Why I ask? How many more things will go terribly wrong this month? As it is, we have limited to no funds to purchase a few gifts for our 3 kids this Christmas, but now, we add a dryer that needs to be bought…sure, I’d dry the clothes on a line if we lived in a house, but we don’t and our apartment complex has a rule against hanging things out to dry!!! So for now, I’ve got clothes slung over furniture so the kids will have something clean to wear tomorrow for school.

I just don’t get it? I don’t know what I’ve done so badly to get this “karma”!  It’s times like these that I just can’t help but tear up and crawl under a pillow for a few days. Unfortunately, I’m stuck pretending I’m happy so that the kids won’t know that I’m screaming inside! What can I do? I’ve played the ole pity violin and nothing magical has happened, I’ve screamed to the top of my lungs and nothing has parted, so what’s next?

What’s worse is that I feel  like I’m talking to myself…I feel like I can’t even do the blog thing right!!!! I don’t know what to do anymore. Sorry to have flustered any reader today. I just really needed to vent before I blew up!

Anyways, thanks for listening, I just had to get some of this off my chest…and it ain’t all of it…TRUST ME.

Happy Thanksgiving

Posted In: blurbs by User Imagebarb (Who am I?)

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone out there a wonderful and festive Thanksgiving Day tomorrow. If you are traveling, please take a moment to check tires, oil and make sure you don’t forget anything (like kids, toys and…ha-ha/Just kidding). Be safe and make it home well…and remember, don’t drink and driveJ.

Since it is also a time for giving thanks to the ones you love as well as reflecting on the year that’s past…I give thanks for everyone who knows me and has put up with my rambling, whining, and self pity (that only happens a few times a year, but I figured it should be thanked for having to deal with it). I want to thank all the new people I’ve met through the internet and  hope that you all return to visit and leave comments letting me know you’re out there…so I know I’m not rambling to myself. And finally; I want to thank the man above for giving me yet another year with my family; for giving me my (somewhat) good health and for giving me the strength to get through even the toughest of times.

So in closing; how do you plan on celebrating? Is it family you’ll be spending time with or are you staying close to home with friends? What are you in charge of cooking? Me, well, I have always been in charge of desserts…in just a few moments I will begin my time in the kitchen with my girls. This year I will bake mint chocolate chip cookies drizzled with white icing along with some brownies, cakes and anything else that comes to mind before the ingredients run low.

Have a great one!!!!

I am truly Thankful…

Posted In: funny email you have to share by barb (Who am I?)

I haven’t shared any really funny emails with you lately because I haven’t had any, but I just got this Thanksgiving wish email from a friend and wanted to share it with everyone…Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday (NOTE: I do not know the originality from which this email came, but I wanted to share it with you because it comes with it a special message):

I AM THANKFUL:

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT’S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE.

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT

BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE  IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

This is to brighten your day. Be thankful for what you have.  And remember…
Attitude isn’t everything. It’s the only thing.
So choose everyday to see the positive and find the best in everything.

Hope everyone enjoys their Holiday’s as they approach. Have a great one today!

Could this Christmas of Dreams be for ME?

Posted In: giveaways by barb (Who am I?)

As time begins to roll closer to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays I often start thinking about how, over the past 12 months, we have grown so much closer as a family. We have been through probably the hardest year (financially) ever, yet we can still say that we’ve loved the times we’ve spent together.

I went to Mom Dot (as I always do) about a week ago and found the perfect opportunity to try and make this wish of having the perfect Christmas a reality. At first I was really afraid to enter because right now I’m really grasping on a ton of hope for that perfect Christmas for the kids (and the hubby and I) but I figured…what the hay…I’ve gotta do something. If I don’t try, I’d be missing the one chance I might have to experience the “Christmas of Dreams” for my family.

What you’ve got to do is quite simple; Mom Dot has decided to give bloggers a chance to win some fabulous prizes to set under their trees. I personally went bananas (no pun intended) when I saw that Dyson was one of the sponsors in this giveaway. My vacuum cleaner is a dumpster find from about a year ago and I’ve never been too fond of it, but it beats spending the cash when you don’t have it. When I went to the site (Dyson) I instantly found my best friend, the BALL…WOWZA!!!! That was what I’ve been seeing myself clean with in my dreams…seriously. When I went to SodaClub site I found myself drooling with all the cool soda drinks we (the kids and I) could indulge our taste buds in( I love the cream soda the most)…and, oops…sorry, I’m supposed to be talking about the kids perfect Christmas aren’t I?

I saw that Leapfrog was another sponsor and boy did I find some great things for my girls, like the Leapster 2 and the cool Tag learning system and, well, I could spend all day their dreaming (for my kids of course).  Yeah, and then I went to the Lollypop Books club and was glued to the Fancy Nancy collection (that’s one of our favorite book sets). After visiting the sponsored sites I realized that not only would my kids have the perfect Christmas, but I would too. I could get the things I’ve been wanting. One last site that I want to tell you about before going on with this super blogger’s giveaway from MOM DOT; I went to Silly Monkeys and found some really cute…I mean CUTE shirts for my hubby to wear (the Hunky Chunky Monkey Tee under the ”more monkeys” category) .

Okay, so before I go on and on about the products that I’m most intrigued over…let me show you all the sponsors for this awesome deal:

Sponsors are (and subject to be adding more as the month goes on):

The last thing I’ve been asked to do is to answer this (not so simple) question:

Why does your family deserve a Christmas of Dreams?

My kids have been through so much this year. Our finances are more than we can handle and we don’t even have credit card debt. We have been shopping at good-will for far too long and as much as I don’t mind shopping this way on occasion, sometimes it’d be nice to have brand new things; sometimes it’d be nice to spoil ourselves with the finer things in life. I want these kids to have the “perfect” Christmas without worrying that Santa forgot them again. I want my kids to smile with true enjoyment instead of doing it to make mom and dad feel happy…because I know they hold in a lot of frustration because we can’t afford all the things that they’ve been asking for (they get an aweful lot of no, I’m sorry’s). These kids have been very understanding throughout the year and I think it’s time they got a little fun of their own. I would love to win this for my family and I. I would love to see us all smile and also help my husband…he’s been stressing so much about how we’re going to pull this one off this year. I truly hope I get that opportunity to make this a possibility for my family (A Christmas dream)…maybe this is the God Send I’m looking for?!?

To each and everyone out there; Happy Holidays (and I do/will say Merry Christmas, but not until the day after Thanksgiving…I’m just funny that way).
